A.G. Billig made her debut both a writer and an actress in “Summer Story”, a multimedia artistic play that took place on the 22nd of August 2013 at Funky Lounge Cafe in Bucharest, in front of 200 people. Local celebrities and writers as well as friends, readers and people who love theatre watched the 45 minutes play inspired by the A.G.’s debut short story book, “Four Doors and Other Stories” that combined theatrical performance with live music, performed by the accordion player Fernando Mihalache, Argentinian tango dancing with Catinca Stana and Cosmin Stamatoiu and video projections made by Catalin Lazaroiu.
Summer Story tells the history of a young woman who one day decides to take some time of from a life – both professional and personal, that doesn’t satisfy her anymore and go to the seaside. There, she discovers the small but wonderful pleasures of being connected to nature (a sunrise, a storm, old people wisdom, the taste of the fresh fish soup) and learns to listen to herself. A.G. Billig opted for an open end:
My aim is not to make people quit their job but to inspire them to lead a life of courage, fulfilment and happiness, no matter their job or occupation. Being in a 9 to 5 program is great as long as it brings them joy.
The event was supported by Redd’s – Too Tasty For Men a premium beer brand for women that also offered to the VIP guests autographed copies of the Romanian version of “Four Doors and Other Stories”. The concept is a A.G. Billig trademark while the production is signed by A.G. Billig and Five’s International.
