Summer Story Diary – 8 days to go
Everything is coming together nicely, this one I can tell! Yesterday and today I rehearsed with Fernando. His music is so beautiful and the way it blends with my words and my voice is absolutely fantastic. We are rehearsing at TangoTangent studio – a cosy, friendly place, with wooden floors and some walls covered in mirror. I realised that I can’t actually look at me in the mirror while I’m acting. One thing I need to fix before the 22nd – look at me and fall in love with me. Otherwise, how am I to loved or liked by the audience.
Today we met Catinca, the tango dancer who is going to dance along with her partner, Cosmin, on four key moments of the show. We have to decide on their outfit. I would go for something quiet the opposite of the modern, corporate world. Something to suggest a dream or a parallel world…. I’m so excited to be on the same stage since they are part of one the most acclaimed contemporary dance shows in Bucharest which, years after the premiere, are always sold out.
Yesterday night it was one of the few nights I had an insomnia. Turned on my laptop at 2 am, wrote an e-mail to the production crew about the event flow and other such down -to-earth details. Sometimes I’m wonder if not better off stage, as an event planner, PR, production coordinator but it doesn’t last long. I know I can be up there. And I love it. And there’s no shame into loving being into the spotlight.
The stage is going to look staggering, I promise, because I got the technical rider today. It’s so complex I almost got lost but, on the other hand, it’s Five’s International nature to do amazing shows with their state-of-art-equipment.
8 days to go….
And just to give you a taste of it…
