Janine Granda gives a voice to love
To me and many others, the beauty of L.A. lies not in its downtown skyscrapers, Hollywood, or Beverly Hills but in its being a melting pot that brings out the best in people for the highest good of people.
L.A. brought to life I Choose Love: A Journey from Fear to Love in the pink kitchen of my dear friend Frank Chindamo, an award-winning filmmaker, and global authority on mobile and online entertainment. For the record, that’s where the idea sprouted out in between arguing about the best way to cook quinoa and broccoli and discussing different revenue streams for self-published authors.
“You need to do the audiobook for I Choose Love,” Frank blurted.
“I’ll check it tomorrow,” I replied not sure about it.
“We’ll do it now!”
Well, Frank is the kind of guy who gets things done. One hour later, I had a profile on ACX (one of the two major online platforms for creating audiobooks), posted an audition script, and hoped to get at least one narrator interested as soon as possible.
One day later, I already had four submissions. Although all the auditions captured the emotion in the final chapter, “The Purifying Water,” one of them stood out. Janine Granda‘s voice gave me the goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. A few moments later, Frank emailed me:
Wow! This woman adds a whole new dimension of storytelling! In fact, she made me feel more deeply about the book.
Janine completed the project in a few weeks time and her magnificent voice, the same one that brought to life brands such as Facebook and Pernod Ricard, lights up now the path from fear to love. Love gets me back to the beginning of this story. And to my love story with L.A. Because Janine and I don’t share just being dog moms. She was born and raised in Miami in a family of Cuban immigrants. I was born in Bucharest, Romania. Technically, I’m an immigrant, too. And Frank’s mom, a fabulous lady, was born in Ecuador.
The making of this audiobook is a story of how love can transcend boundaries and countries to unite people who allow themselves to be guided by their life purpose and willingness to serve others.
I hope you will give this audiobook a chance. For the sake of love. Because Janine Granda’s voice is a voice of love. And last, but not least, for your sake.
